Qatar's Minister of Transport Meets UN Special Envoy for Road Safety

Doha, December 18 (QNA) - HE Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti met Sunday with HE UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Road Safety Jean Todt, who is currently visiting the country. During the meeting, they reviewed aspects of bilateral cooperation between the State of Qatar and United Nations in the field of road safety, and ways to push them towards broader horizons, as well as the latest developments in the UN's plan for road safety for the year 2030. During the meeting, HE UN Special Envoy for Road Safety commended the State of Qatar's commitment to provide safe, environmental and sustainable transport during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, extending his congratulations to the State of Qatar for its success in organizing the World Cup tournament. HE Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti also met Sunday with HE Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiyev, who is currently visiting the country. During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries in the field of transport, and various activities in regard to transport, commercial ports and civil aviation, as well as ways to enhance and develop them. During the meeting, HE Azebaijani Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan extended his congratulations to the State of Qatar for its success in organizing the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
