"This year's report captures the essence of sustainable development efforts of the major companies of the Energy Sector of Qatar. "I can say with confidence that Qatar, and its Energy and Industry Sector in particular, is well positioned as an energy leader that provides critically needed, lower emission and environmentally friendly LNG, to all corners of the globe, while implementing economic diversification and environmental stewardship," he said.
All operators will comprehensively report their Health Safety and Environment (HSE) and Sustainable Development (SD) performance data and evolve a 5-year strategy that oversees continual improvement.
Commenting further on the future of the Sustainable Development Industry Reporting (SDIR) programme was Saif Al-Naimi, Director, HSE Regulations and Enforcement Directorate, Qatar Petroleum.
"We will continue to look for ways to raise the bar of the SDIR programme as a leading regional initiative that promotes transparency, performance and improvement. We aim to continue driving improvements in the sector s reporting and performance on sustainability issues and adding value and contribution towards the Qatar National Vision 2030," he said. (QNA)
