QRCS Organizes 'Volunteer for a Sustainable Future in the Gulf' Event

Doha, October 23 (QNA) - Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) marked Sunday the Gulf Red Crescent Day, which falls on Oct. 23 each year, with the participation of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA) under the slogan Volunteer for a Sustainable Future in the Gulf. On this occasion, HE Secretary-General of QRCS Ambassador Ali bin Hassan Al Hammadi said that the Gulf Red Crescent societies are always keen on integration and unification of their positions, especially in international forums and events related to humanitarian and volunteering work, in addition to partnership and coordination on joint work agendas under the umbrella of the GCC General Secretariat and subcommittees. His Excellency noted that the volunteer is a symbol for every Gulf citizen who represents the values of benevolence and giving, calling on everyone to become a role model for their communities in humanitarian work, and to spend time and effort in order to help the needy everywhere. In this regard, His Excellency extended his thanks and gratitude to the workers and volunteers in the humanitarian field, expressing pride to be part of the humanitarian work family, and we are proud of the efforts and contributions of nearly 27,000 male and female volunteers registered with the QRCS, driven by love and desire. Assistant Undersecretary for Environmental Affairs at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Abdulhadi Nasser Al Marri praised the efforts of the QRCS to support volunteering, stressing this enriches collective action to achieve sustainable development in its various dimensions, especially according to clear tracks set by the Qatar National Vision 2030. QRCS volunteers affirmed that they would continue serving people everywhere, noting that the slogan of this year's celebration establishes the future of volunteering in the Gulf region for the coming years.
