QRCS Supports Interventions, Surgeries in Gaza

Doha, October 26 (QNA) - Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) said that it pays great attention to developing the quality of health services provided to Palestinian patients in the Gaza strip, noting that the specialized surgeries for poor patients 2022 project come as a window of hope for patients to alleviate their suffering on one hand and to develop health cadres and reduce the treatment bill on the other hand, for patients outside the Gaza Strip. The QRCS explained that he had contracted through the aforementioned project with 19 consultants and specialists to perform specialized surgeries for patients in the hospitals of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, including five doctors from his scholarships returning from their specialized studies in Qatar and Jordan. It also noted that the most prominent specialized surgeries that patients will benefit from are heart, chest, blood vessel, brain and nerve surgeries, indicating that the project, which has a total cost of about QR 3,144,000 will contribute to developing the capabilities of local medical staff, reducing waiting lists in hospitals and ensuring the continuity of providing medical health services in Gaza hospitals. The "specialized surgical operations for poor patients in Gaza 2022" project includes, in addition to the surgical interventions for consultants, working to provide medical consumables for cardiac surgery at Al Quds Hospital of the Red Crescent Society and the Palestinian Ministry of Health, in addition to implementing specialized training programs for cadres working in the health sector.
