QRDI Participates in STS Forum in Japan

Doha, October 12 (QNA) - The Qatar Research, Development and Innovation (QRDI) Council participated in the 19th Annual Meeting for the Science and Technology in Society (STS) forum in Kyoto, Japan.
The three-day forum brought together over a 1,000 global leaders in science and technology (S&T), policymaking, and business from over 80 countries and regions to discuss topics including energy, climate change, resource sustainability, life sciences, innovative engineering, cooperation in S&T, S&T education, and digital society.
The STS forum conducts various events on the sidelines of the annual meeting, including the Dialogue between Young Leaders and Nobel Laureates. The QRDI delegation included two Young Leaders from Qatar, Dr. Mashael A Shafai, Head of Research and Graduate Studies, College of Health Sciences at Qatar University; and Dr. Sami Al Ghamdi, Associate Professor of Sustainable Built Environment and Climate Change Resilient Critical Infrastructure, College of Science and Engineering at Hamad bin Khalifa University, to represent Qatar in the global event and discuss pressing topics in the fields of science and technology.
QRDI’s support for the 19th Annual Meeting of the STS forum represents its vision for globally connected research and innovation ecosystems to collaborate and address global challenges.
STS organizes several events on the sidelines of its annual meeting, including a dialogue between young leaders and Nobel laureates. (QNA)
