Queen Of Malaysia Launches Mercedes-Benz Stylo Fashion Grand Prix 2012

KUALA LUMPUR, March 20 (Bernama) -- Queen of Malaysia Tuanku Hajah Haminah on Monday launched the Mercedes-Benz Stylo Fashion Grand Prix 2012 at the Kuala Lumpur Tower (KL Tower) here. Tuanku Hajah Haminah also led the ribbon-cutting at the launching ceremony themed, 'Fashion Fantasies in the Sky', on the open deck which brought a panoramic view of the capital city as stunning backdrop. Also present were Kuala Lumpur Mayor Ahmad Fuad Ismail and Malaysia Mercedes-Benz Chief Executive Officer Roland Folger. The event, hosted in partnership with Stylo and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), serves as a starting point for the country to go global, fortifying the brand of Kuala Lumpur as a fashion city. Meanwhile, Folger said the event aimed to put Kuala Lumpur on the world fashion map by promoting local talents through their creativity, and for the country to keep up with global standards in fashion. "This year will be an even more exciting year for Malaysia, thanks to our exciting partnership with Stylo to present Mercedes-Benz Stylo World Fashion Series. "Kuala Lumpur will become a fashion city to the world through local talents participating at international shows in London, Mumbai and other fashion capitals around the world," he said, on the launching ceremony. The event presented 10 top designers from the Bumiputera Designers Association. Among them were Radzuan Radzwill, Nazreen Idris, Fizi Woo, Rahman Saif, Melvin Shah, Sandra Azwan and Ramond Zack. -- BERNAMA
