Queen Visits Datuk Harun Orphanage

KUALA LUMPUR, June 8 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Queen Tuanku Hajah Haminah visited the Datuk Harun Orphanage (RBDH), in Hulu Kelang, here, Thursday, in conjunction with the birthday celebration of the King Tuanku Abdul Halim. The Queen (second from right) was met on arrival by the prime minister's wife, Rosmah Mansor (left), the Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Heng Seai Kie and RBDH chairman Mohd Fahmi Ibrahim. The Queen signed the visitor's book and spent some time at the Ibnu Sina library and RBDH computer lab. Tuanku Hajah Haminah presented a cheque worth US$4,716.7 (RM15,000), gifts and chatted with 150 orphans from various welfare homes in Hulu Kelang. Orphans from the Ozanam Orphanage, Omar Hasfizal and the Community Service Centre for the Deaf performed dances and songs for the Queen. As at April 30 this year, 85 orphans of all races were sheltered at the RBDH, which was established since 1966. (photoBERNAMA) MALAYSIA
