Rayong seeking community chiefs

RAYONG, Feb 12 (TNA) – The eastern province of Rayong in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and PTT Global Chemical PCL (PTTGC) has launched a campaign seeking community chefs in a bid to promote local food and tourism. Rayong governor Surasak Charoensirichote said PTTGC and TAT introduced the “Chef Chumpol Creates Community Chefs” campaign, in which Chumpol Jangprai, the renowned "Iron Chef Thailand" TV show, will join to help develop new recipes using locally-produced ingredients. As part of the campaign, a cooking contest will be held to find 10 best community chefs who will stand a chance of training with Chef Chumpol. Mr Surasak said the move is aimed at boosting provincial tourism and economy, adding that local ingredient producers, farmers and food factories, will benefit from the campaign. (TNA)
