RCA Abu Dhabi launches number of humanitarian projects and events during Holy Month of Ramadan
Abu Dhabi, July 9, 2013 (WAM) - The Red Crescent Authority in Abu Dhabi has launched a package of projects, programmes and humanitarian and charitable events during the days of the Holy Month of Ramadan, which will be carried out through its offices in Abu Dhabi, Mussaffah and Bani Yas, in collaboration with Red Crescent partners, benefactors and philanthropists, in favour of poor and needy families in Abu Dhabi.
Mohammed Saeed Al Rumeithi, Acting Director of the Red Crescent, Abu Dhabi Branch, emphasised that the aim of launching these charity initiatives is to achieve solidarity and interdependent humanitarian and charity work among members of the community.
He said that more than 4,600 needy families will benefit from the "Mir of Ramadan", whereby ration cards provided by the Abu Dhabi Cooperative Society will be distributed to qualifying families registered with the RCA Abu Dhabi branch with an average of five to seven members.
Al Rumeithi said that the branch has allocated Dh2,355,000 million for "Mir of Ramadan" with an average of Dh1000 per family.
Al Rumaithi added that the Red Crescent Authority is looking forward to working with its partners in humanitarian and charitable work, to building bridges of mutual cooperation and serving the target groups during the days of the Holy Month of Ramadan. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
