RCA continues its support for 30000 Syrian refugee families in Lebanon

Beirut, June 3, 2013 (WAM)- : Under the auspices of the UAE Embassy to Beirut, the UAE Red Crescent Authority continues its relief campaign to provide necessary humanitarian assistance to Syrian refugee families in Lebanon.
The campaign includes providing relief assistance to 30,000 families displaced from neighbouring towns and villages of Syria to Lebanon. The campaign will continue for three months, and in three phases, with aid for 10,000 families at each phase.
The Deputy Secretary-General for Relief and Projects at the RCA, Naima Eid Al Muhairi, said that the assistance includes food parcels and basic materials distributed directly from the office of the authority in Lebanon, in cooperation with the Lebanese Red Cross.
She pointed out that the assistance project included relief for the families recently arrived in Lebanon and have not found shelter.
The beneficiaries from the assistance expressed their thanks and gratitude to the UAE for the valuable aid presented by the RCA, stressing that the UAE Red Crescent comes always at the forefront of humanitarian relief organisations when a disaster occurs in the Arab region and other countries in the world.
The International Organisation for Migration in Geneva and several international organisations and associations commended the efforts of the authority in providing humanitarian relief and support for Syrian refugees in Lebanon and Jordan, and they expressed their willingness to provide technical assistance and support for the authority to enable them to continue their efforts and humanitarian relief for Syrian refugees. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
