Registration starts on Nov 7 to receive free commemorative postcards

BANGKOK, Nov 4 (TNA) -- Thailand Post has unveiled the commemorative postcards affixed with a stamp bearing the image of His Majesty the late King. Thailand Post says it is making 9,999,999 commemorative postcards affixed with a stamp in memory of the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and distribute to the people free of charge. It has has urged people who wanted to obtain free commemorative postcards with a stamp to register online or at post offices across the country from Nov 7 to 30. Samorn Terdthampiboon, president of Thailand Post, the state-owned postal company, said the commemorative postcard with stamp was made in memory of His Majesty's benevolence to the people during his reign of 70 years. The postcard was printed with A size of paper bearing the image of His Majesty the late King while one-baht stamp on the upper left side of the stamp also carries the image of His Majesty the late King in a full air force commander uniform. The stamp comes with a seal dated Oct 13, 2016, the day His Majesty passed away. In total, 9,999,999 such stamps will be produced. People who are interested in the postcard and stamp could register by filling their identification card numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers in the application forms at www.stamprama9.thailandpost.com, starting from November 7 at 7am until midnight of November 30. The public could registed at the post offices nationwide without any charge. The postcard will be distributed with a limit of one postcard for each person. (TNA)
