Religious figures stress unity, solidarity

Manama, Sep. 12 (BNA): Bahraini religious figures have extended warmest congratulations to the leadership, the Bahraini people and the Arab and Islamic nations marking Eid Al-Adha. They called on Muslims to overcome sedition and conflicts and be united in line with the tolerant precepts of the Islamic Religion. Islamic Affairs Undersecretary Fareed bin Yaqoob Al-Meftah, extended congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, on Eid Adha. He also congratulated the people of Bahrain and the Arab and Islamic nation on the auspicious occasion. Al-Meftah asserted that Eid Al-Adha reflects the goals embedded in Islam, including joy, happiness, compassion, solidarity and cooperation. He added that Islam does not call for hatred, and is a universal religion that urges unity among human beings He stressed that Islam is against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and denounces extremist ideology. He said that the current situation the Islamic Nation is going through requires everyone to review their ideology and approach, adding that wise Muslims should lead the Nation to safety. He stressed that peoples’ rallying behind their leaderships would immune nations against external plots and conspiracies aimed at dividing citizens of the same country and undermining cohesive societies. He called on all segments of Bahraini society to join ranks for the best interests of the nation, and affirmed the need to draw inspiration from Haj, wishing Bahraini and other pilgrims success in performing their rituals. Sheikh Salah Al-Jowdar pointed out to the security enjoyed by Muslims during Eid Al-Adha days, adding that Bahrainis should cement their unity, enhance solidarity among them and visit each other. He stressed it a society is cohesive and united, it leaves no room for its enemies to subvert its security and stability. It also leaves no room for extremists to promote their ideology. Sheikh Yussef Habib said that Eid Al-Adha should be an opportunity to worship Allah the Almighty, and make one’s family and community happy. Sheikh Isa bin Saleh affirmed that the Islamic Religion was meant to unify people and strengthen love and solidarity among them. He called on Muslims to join ranks and unify their stances in order to be stronger, in line with the teachings of Islam. He stressed that that Muslims should be united, support each other and adhere to their religion so as to thwart the repeated attempts of their enemies to divide them and weaken them.
