Resistance vis-a-vis enemy effective: Judiciary chief

Tehran, June 3, IRNA – Iran's Judiciary Chief Ebrahim Raisi said on Monday that resistance towards the enemy is an effective way to force it withdraw from its excessive demands. The US request for talks with Iran, once again, proved the righteousness of Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei's stance, Ebrahim Raisi said. He made the remarks in reaction to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's announcement that Washington is ready to hold negotiations with Iran with no preconditions. This is while; Pompeo earlier mentioned 12 preconditions for holding talks with Iran. The US insistence on talks with Iran proves the fact that Washington is in need of negotiation with Iran and it shows that resistance is an effective method, the cleric added. The official referred to the change of the US officials' rhetoric on Iran, and said that if Iran insists on its stance; the enemy will withdraw from its position. He also lauded the huge turnout of people in this year's Quds Day in Iran and across the globe. Quds Day, officially called International Quds Day is an annual event held on the last Friday of Ramadan that was initiated by late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini to express support for the Palestinians and oppose Zionism and the Zionist regime.
