Respect for states sovereignty stressed

Manama, Apr 12 (BNA): Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla called for activating Arabic League Council resolutions on Iranian interference in the Arab countries' internal affairs, pointing Bahrain's policy based on the respect for the sovereignty of states and commitment to diplomatic norms and conventions. This came on the sidelines of the Speaker's participation in the 23rd Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) Conference held in Cairo as he led Bahrain parliamentary delegation to the conference. The Speaker welcomed the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques on the establishment of a joint Arab counterterrorism force, which expresses Arab nation's aspirations and in conformity with the Arab parliamentary assemblies' previous resolutions in this regard. He called for mobilizing legislative efforts to fight the growing pace of terrorism which is alien to Islam and Arab customs and traditions. He noted Bahrain's supportive efforts toward Arab causes and its contributions to fighting terrorism through its vital role played within Arab alliances.
