RI To Build School In Gaza
Gaza City, Palestine, Nov 30 (ANTARA) - Indonesia will soon build a school in Gaza, Palestine, according to director of the Quick Response Action (ACT) Doddy Cleveland.
The school will be built on 5,000 sq meter of land at Bait Lahiya, North Gaza, he said here on Friday.
The ACT director, along with an Indonesian parliamentary delegation is visiting Gaza to present relief aid to victims of Israeli military aggression.
The delegation led by House Commission I Chairman Mahfudz Siddiq consists of seven lawmakers, 10 journalists and a number of non-governmental organization activists and staff members of the Indonesian embassies in Cairo and Amman.
Doddy said the relief aid consists of medicines and Rp500 million in cash raised from the Indonesian people.
"The medicines will be handed to Al Shifa Hospital and the money will be given to children and widows of those killed in the Israeli brutality. Each of the victims will receive money as much as 100 shekel, an equivalent to Rp400 thousand," he said.
ACT will also distribute a package of food and blankets among victims of the Israeli aggression, he said.
Since four years ago, ACT has provided Rp100 million in cash to the hospital every year, he said.
Earlier, Indonesia also built a hospital in Gaza.
Also joining the delegation are representatives of charity foundations including Dompet Dhuafa, Adara Relief Interntsional Foundation, and the National Commission for the Palestinian People (KNURP).
KNURP chairman Suripto said at a meeting between Indonesian parliament and its Palestinian counterpart on Thursday the commission will hand relief aid worth US$1 million to the Palestinian people.
