Palembang, S Sumatra, Oct 3 (ANTARA) - Indonesian Ambassador to Poland Darmansyah Djumala will visit South Sumatra on October 19, 2012 to explore investment opportunities in the plantation sector, local Licensing and Investment Services Agency spokesman Permana said here on Wednesday.
"Darmansyah`s visit to South Sumatra in 2011 was focused on investment in the energy sector and this time he will explore investment opportunities in the plantation sector," Permana noted.
He said that the Indonesian envoy to Poland would visit the province bearing in mind a business mission between Indonesia and Poland which was established several years ago.
"Darmansyah plans to survey rubber and oil palm plantations in Banyuasin district, South Sumatra," Permana added.
Thanks to intensive promotion of Indonesia by Darmansyah in Poland, Permana said that many Polish investors have already invested in various sectors in South Sumatra.
"As a son of South Sumatra, the Indonesian ambassador to Poland has made every effort to promote the progress of his place of birth," Permana noted.
According to him, Indonesia and Poland had established a partnership in the coal sector for the third time, with Odira Energy among others.
He pointed out that three memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between the two countries in the fields of wind energy, conveyor belt production and remote sensing instruments have already been signed.
"The cooperation in the field of energy and plantation is expected to shift the world`s economic centre to Asia and prompt the Polish investors to invest in Indonesia," Permana said.

"The visit will be facilitated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," Permana said, adding that the representatives to visit South Sumatra would come from Peru, Ecuador, Suriname, Slovakia, Croatia, Ukraine, Belorussia, the United States, Canada and Mexico.
