Royal crematorium replicas nationwide completed

BANGKOK, Oct 17 (TNA) – Construction of all 85 royal crematorium replicas across the country has been completed, said Interior Minister Gen Anupong Paochinda. 76 royal cremation replicas in 76 provinces, 802 floral niches in all districts were 100 per cent completed on Oct 15. Landscaping work is undergoing touch-ups and service tents are being erected. All work is expected to be done in the next few days, he said. Meanwhile, the construction of catafalques for the burning of sandalwood flowers will be finished by Oct 20. Nine royal crematorium replicas in Bangkok and nearby provinces are now ready. Service and facilities are being prepared for safety and order to serve huge crowds of mourners, Gen Anupong said. In provinces, facilities and security will be provided for the public not only during the royal cremation ceremony but also before and after the ceremony. (TNA)
