Royal OIC speech hailed

Manama, Apr. 16 (BNA): The Shura Council has lauded the participation of the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in the 13th Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Summit, recently held in Istanbul, Turkey, and praised the effective participation of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, in the opening of the conference.
In a statement issued today, the Shura Council hailed the outcomes of the OIC Summit regarding the consolidation of Islamic solidarity in line with the principles called for by the Islamic Religion.
The keynote speech of HM King Hamad, delivered on his behalf by the Deputy Premier HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak, reaffirmed the kingdom’s keenness on ensuring the stability of the world and reflected the leadership’s wise vision on the need to combat terrorism that has become a major threat to lives and property worldwide, the statement said.
The Shura Council added that the Kingdom has suffered from terrorist and subversive acts that are backed by external sides, including Iran and Hizbollah terrorist organisation, which requires harnessing all potentials to confront them.
The statement stressed that the issues discussed during OIC Summit confirm that the situation the region is currently going through requires giving top priority to regional security and stability, noting that the summit’s resolutions will enhance joint Islamic action and boost collective efforts to confront common threats.
The Shura Council voiced its full support to the kingdom stances, highlighted by HM the King in his keynote address, on the need to defend just Arab and Islamic issues, such as the Palestinian cause, the Iran-occupied UAE islands, the security and stability in Yemen and putting an end to foreign interference and military escalation in Syria.
