Royal support for charity, humanitarian work praised

Manama, Oct. 16 (BNA): Vice-President of the Azhar University, Dr. Mohammed Abu Zeid El-Amir, has lauded the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Honorary President of the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO), for charity and humanitarian work, valuing highly the key role by RCO, led by the Representative of HM the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs and RCO Board of Trustees Chairman, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to deliver charity work efficiently.
Dr. Mohammed Abu Zeid El-Amir commended the great role played by RCO Secretary-General, as member of the Board of Trustees of the Egyptian House of Zakat and Alms for the second consecutive term, noting that he has been one of the pillars of the House of Zakat and Alms since its establishment by its Board of Trustees President, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr. Shaikh Ahmed Al-Tayyib.
Al-Azhar University Vice-President made the statements during the opening of the international conference on "Zakat and Comprehensive Development".
Patronised by the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the international event is organised by the Zakat and Charity Fund at the Justice Ministry, in cooperation with the London-based Cambridge Research and Training Centre, the London Centre for Training and Consultancy, and the Al-Raqaba Group for Financial Islamic Consultations in Jordan.
It is to be noted that Al-Azhar Grand Imam and President of the Egyptian Zakat and Alms House, Dr. Ahmed Al Tayyib, issued a decision restructuring the Egyptian Zakat and Alms House board of trustees upon completion of the term of its previous board.
RCO Secretary-general Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed was appointed as a member of the Egyptian Zakat and Alms House to benefit from his administrative expertise gained in running the humanitarian and charitable projects carried out by RCO in Bahrain and abroad.
