Royal University for Women to offer course in Italian

Manama, May 8 (BNA):The Royal University for Women (RUW) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the embassy of Italy for the teaching of Italian language as an elective course at RUW.
The event was attended by Italian Ambassador to Bahrain Domenico Bellato, Chairman of RUW ExCo committee Essa Najibi, RUW President Mazin Jumaah as well as academic deans and administrative managers.
RUW President and the Italian ambassador signed the official documents for the course. The MoU revolved around the initiative to introduce of the Italian language as an elective offered by the Centre for General Studies.
This was followed by an overview of the Royal University for Women through which Jumaah briefed the Italian ambassador on the progress of the university and the courses it offers and the oppurtunities for further cooperation between RUW and the Embassy of Italy.
"We are happy to sign the MoU between the Embassy of Italy and the Royal University for Women to start teaching the Italian language, as it will be the first course of Italian language that will be taught at a Bahraini university and it is a great opportunity to learn it because the Italian language is the language of arts and architecture and we are proud of it being part in the academic life of RUW students," the ambassador said.
RUW President said the university seeks to bring the world to itsstudents by providing an opportunity to learn about the world's cultures and to acquire new languages in order to put their mark in the local and international terms through their learning of different languages.
The Royal University for Women launched a French language course earlier in March in cooperation with Alliance Francaise Bahrain.
