Rp9 Million Japanese Grant For 10 Indonesian Organizations
Jakarta, Mar 13 (Antara) - The Japanese Government has allotted Rp9 billion (82.24 million yen) for ten Indonesian organizations to initiate humanitarian projects.
"The grant will be interpreted as proof of the close ties and great relationship between Japan and Indonesia," Japan's Ambassador to Indonesia Yasuaki Tanizaki said here on Friday.
Tanizaki expressed hope that the assistance will be used in accordance with plans and its benefits will directly reach communities.
The grant is part of the Official Development Assistance (ODA), an official aid named by the Japanese government for fiscal year 2014.
Ten Indonesian humanitarian organizations will receive some Rp400 million to Rp1 billion each.
"I hope this kind of cooperation can be continued in the future to support humanitarian projects in Indonesia," Head of Mitra Mandiri Foundation Toto Suwanto remarked.
Mitra Mandiri Foundation, which is one of the recipients of the grant, is involved in clean water projects in Aceh. The other organizations that will receive the aid are Citra Mandiri Foundation, for vocational training project in Jakarta, and Satu Karsa Karya Foundation, for women empowerment in Yogyakarta.
The Center for the Study and Development of Human Resources (PSPSDM) for maternal and child health project in West Nusa Tenggara; Society for Disaster Management for disaster management projects in East Nusa Tenggara; Rumsram Foundation for sanitation project in Biak Numfor, Papua, are also some of the recipients of the grant.
Also in the list are Institute for Child Development and Community Development FEDUs for energy projects in West Java; Children Development Foundation for disabilities in Surakarta; Al-Ershad Foundation for junior high school construction project in Bulukumba, South Sulawesi; and Al-Marifah Foundation for orphanage in Cirebon.
