RTAF invites public to pay last tribute to late King
BANGKOK, Oct 21 (TNA) -- The Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) has invited the general public to lay sandalwood funeral flowers to pay last tribute to the His Majesty late King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the Royal Cremation day next Thursday, said a spokesman of RTAF.
Air Vice Marshal Pongsak Semachai said people can lay sandalwood flowers at the crematorium replica built inside the RTAF stadium next Thursday between 9am- 4.30pm and between 6.30pm-10pm.
He said the RTAF has prepared sandalwood funeral flowers, security, car parking, food and drinks, and medical services for the people on that day to honour the late King Bhumibol who passed away on October 13, 2016.
Meanwhile, Kornsit Pakchotanon, governor of Electricity Generating of Thailand (EGAT), said his agency has projected that electricity consumption next Thursday would be about 25,600 megawatts.
In Bangkok and surrounding areas, electricity demand on that day is estimated at 9,000 MWs out of the total, he said, adding that EGAT has mapped out plans to ensure the public that there would be no power shortage on the Royal Cremation day.
EGAT has closely cooperated with the Metropolitan Electricity Authority and the Provincial Electricity Authority to make sure that there would be no power shortages between October 23-29, especially around Sanam Luang Ceremonial Ground, Mr Kornsit added. (TNA)
