Russian Grand Mufti leaves Bahrain

Manama, March 25 (BNA): The Grand Mufti of Russia, Russian Muftis Shura Council Chairman and President of the Religious Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation Shaikh Rawi Ainuddin and his accompanying delegation left Bahrain today after a three-day official visit to the kingdom during which they met with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The Russian delegation also held meetings with officials from the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments and the Royal Charity Organisation and discussed with them ways of boosting cooperation. They also met officials from the Economic Development Board and the Central Bank of Bahrain and discussed with them economic cooperation. The Grand Mufti of Russia and his accompanying delegation were seen off by mainly Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa. In a statement given before his departure, Shaikh Rawi Ainuddin extended thanks and respect to HM the King for meeting them. He also thanked the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs for the invitation and good hospitality. He conveyed his greetings to Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa and his best wishes to him of abundant good health. He also thanked the council's Deputy Chairman Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa and invited him to visit Russia and get informed about the activities of the Russian Muftis Shura Council and the Religious Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation. He lauded success of the visit in laying down strong foundations to boost bilateral relations.
