Sacrificial Animals Exhibit During Banyuwangi Cattle Market Festival

Banyuwangi, E Java, Aug 28 (Antara) - The Banyuwangi District Administration of East Java Province held Banyuwangi Cattle Market Festival that exhibited hundreds of sacrificial animals. "The event was held as an open market that sells sacrificial animals and exhibited 200 animals," the Head of Agricultural Service for Banyuwangi District Administration, Arief Setiawan, said here on Monday. The event was held for two days since Sunday (Aug 27). According to Setiawan, the sellers on the festival provided their cattle with health certificates and information relating to the animal, including age, health condition, price and slaughterhouse. The sellers also provided free delivery service to the buyers who bought the sacrificial animals during the festival. "People who want to do sacrificial worship can buy the animal on the festival. The sellers will deliver the animal before the Eid al Adha day celebration," Setiawan added. The purpose of the event is to educate people to have proper information relating to the health of each sacrificial animal for Eid al Adha celebration. The committee also held agricultural product expo, bird contest, pet contest and a free medical check up.
