Sadyr Zhaparov meets with Chinese President Xi Jinping

Bishkek, Sept. 15, 2022. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping in Samarkand city of Uzbekistan. The heads of state discussed topical issues of Kyrgyz-Chinese bilateral cooperation, the implementation of top-level agreements and joint projects in various fields. Sadyr Zhaparov noted that the establishment of a dialogue at the highest level had a stimulating effect on the activation of the entire spectrum of Kyrgyz-Chinese relations of comprehensive strategic partnership. He stressed that the further development of Kyrgyz-Chinese relations based on good neighborliness, friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership is in the interests of the peoples of the two countries and contributes to stable development in the region. “There are no unresolved political issues between Kyrgyzstan and China that impede the development of bilateral cooperation,” Sadyr Zhaparov said. The president stressed that the Kyrgyz Republic, as one of the founders of the SCO, attaches great importance to deepening all-round cooperation within the Organization, considers it as an important factor in ensuring security and stability in the Central Asian region. The head of state expressed confidence that the further successful implementation of the One Belt, One Road would contribute to deepening and expanding economic partnership, improving infrastructure and cultural interaction within the SCO countries. Sadyr Zhaparov expressed the interest of the Kyrgyz side in accelerating the practical implementation of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway construction project. “I am sure that the signing of an agreement of understanding on this project within the framework of this SCO Summit will become an important basis for further practical joint actions between the Chinese, Kyrgyz and Uzbek sides. This document will consolidate the unity of intentions of China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in the construction of the road,” he said. Sadyr Zhaparov invited Xi Jinping to visit Kyrgyzstan. “I am convinced that this visit will be a great contribution to the strengthening and development of good neighborliness, friendship and cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China, to raising bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level,” he said. In turn, the Chinese president noted that the meeting with the president of the Kyrgyz Republic in February this year was fruitful, and during these negotiations a number of important agreements were reached. “As the head of state, you are making great efforts to carry out reforms and improve the welfare of the people of Kyrgyzstan, which has found great support among your population. I am sure that under your leadership the Kyrgyz Republic will develop confidently,” the Chinese president said. Xi Jinping stressed that China supports Kyrgyzstan in its reform efforts. “Kyrgyzstan, within the framework of the “Community of Common Destiny of Kyrgyzstan and China”, is one of the most friendly neighbors and close partners of China.
