Sandalwood planks to be delivered for making royal urn next week
PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, Dec 15 (TNA) – Sandalwood planks, processed into various shapes and sized is to be delivered to the Office of the Traditional Arts in Nakhon Pathom on December 20.
Chatree Chanweerachai, Kui Buri chief district said the Kui Buri National Park has finished processing fragrant sandalwood trees after the pre-cutting Brahmin ceremony was held in Nov 14.
The procession of decorated trucks, carrying the wood planks will pass the town before leaving the province.
Prachuab Khiri Khan Governor Dr Thawee Narissirikul will preside over the ceremony to launch the procession of three trucks at 7am.
After the procession arrives at the Kui Buri district office, the hand-over ceremony will be carried out to submit the sandal wood planks, the major material to be used for the making of the royal urn to the Natural Resources and Environment Minister and the Culture Minister.
After the ceremony is over, more than 20 trucks will embark for the Office of Traditional Arts in Nakhon Pathom for craftspeople to start making the royal urn for the cremation ceremony of HM late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, expected to be held late next year. (TNA)
