Saudi Press: National Transport and Logistics Strategy is one of the Saudi Vision 2030 pillars
Riyadh, July 1, 2021, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas.
Al-Bilad, Al Eqtisadiah and Al-Riyadh Newspapers reported in their editorials that the National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS), launched by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, is one of the key pillars for implementing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
The comprehensive strategy will uplift and improve all forms of transport services and strengthen the integration of logistical services and future technologies, in order to solidify the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics hub connecting the three continents, supporting and enabling the Kingdom’s national development plans, the papers said.
The growth and diversification of the economy is primarily based on developing the transport and logistics sector, which is a vital factor to achieving national economic goals, the papers added.
Therefore, NTLS focused on achieving comprehensive development in all transport sectors, providing sustainability and diversity factors for the Saudi economy. This is in addition to consolidating Saudi Arabia’s position as one of the most important countries investing in this sector and attracting investments, the papers further added.
The NTLS will advance human and technical capabilities and attract more local and foreign investments, in addition to adopting advanced operating systems and optimizing partnerships between the public and private sector, which effectively contribute to creating more jobs for Saudis and upgrading the capacity of Saudi ports, the papers concluded.
In another context, Okaz and Al-Yaum Newspapers reported in their editorials that the unemployment rate of total Saudis decreased in the Kingdom Saudi Arabia during the first quarter of 2021 to 11.7%, compared to 12.6% during the fourth quarter of 2020, which reflect the success of plans and programs included in Saudi Vision 2030.
According to the estimates of the labor force survey conducted by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) on a quarterly basis, the unemployment rate of the total Saudi and non-Saudi population has decreased, the papers added.
Such achievements confirm Saudi Arabia’s ability to address the unemployment issue. Additionally, the projects and programs of Vision 2030 have created unlimited opportunities, contributing to finding solutions to this issue, the paper concluded.
