SCH, NIHR cooperation discussed

Manama, Sept. 5 (BNA): Supreme Council for Health (SCH)'s President Lt-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa has stressed on the significant role undertaken by the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) in consolidating and boosting the principles of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain in line with the reforms of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Shaikh Mohammed made his remarks as he received on Sunday the National Institution's delegation headed by its Board of Commissioners Chairman Dr. Abdulaziz Hassan Abul accompanied with commissioners advocate Fareed Ghazi, Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery and Dr. Jameela Al-Sammak; in the presence of the Ministry of Health (MOH)'s Undersecretary Dr. Ayesha Mubarak Bu Enq and the Council's Secretary-general Ebrahim Al Nawakhetha. He praised the NIHR board of commissioners efforts and adding more Bahraini achievements in this aspect. He said that the upcoming National Health Insurance Scheme of the Kingdom of Bahrain constitutes one of the key national programmes to develop the healthcare sector in harmony with the visions of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, constantly followed up by His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, and will boost the quality of health services without affecting the citizens' current gains. He stressed that the provision and availability of healthcare services for citizens is the constitutional right of each and every citizen fostered by the government. He affirmed the typicality of views between the Supreme Council for Health and the National Institution for Human Rights regarding the right to healthcare as one of the most important rights of the community ensured and stipulated in Article (8) of the Kingdom of Bahrain's Constitution. The two sides commended the government's efforts in the provision of health service to all citizens and residents in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The chairman and members of NIHR board of commissioners expressed their gratitude to the Supreme Health Council chairman for the excellent initiatives of developing the health service in the Kingdom as one of the most important rights ensured by the Kingdom of Bahrain's Constitution and given top priority and attentiveness by the leadership, aspiring for more cooperation and coordination between the Supreme Council and the National Institution in the interest of the nation and all of its citizens.
