SCIA condemns terrorist attack in Karbabad

Manama, Apr. 19 (BNA): The Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs (SCIA) has condemned the sinful terrorist attack that targeted on-duty street security patrolmen in Karbabad area and claimed the life of one policeman and critically injured two others. The Council issued a statement today in which it stressed the heinous criminal attack is contradictory to the teachings of Islam, and all values, faith, norms and conventions and necessitate a uniform stance to tackle the roots of terrorism and extremism and anyone who tries to exploit, incite youth or spread chaos and destruction. The Council called for a responsible patriotic stance on the part of religious scholars, imams and pulpit orators to increase public awareness and guide people on the path of goodness and righteousness and warn them against inciters of sedition, strife and extremism. The Council commended the official agencies role in safeguarding human lives and defending the nation and its security and stability. The Council urged all civil society institutions and citizens to unite and sense the national and community responsibility to protect the community from the evils of hateful instigators. The Council urged all parents to assume the duty of protecting their children from falling prey into the cobwebs of ill-purposed inciters. The Council expressed sincere condolences to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to the family of policeman Mohammed Tanweer, personnel of the Interior Ministry, and all sons of Bahrain in general, supplicating to Almighty Allah to accommodate the deceased in vast bliss and mercy, and bestow upon those injured a quick healing.
