SCIA condoles with HM King, HRH Premier, HRH Crown Prince

Manama, June 5 (BNA): The Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs (SCIA) expressed sincere condolences to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister over the late His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, who passed away today. The council expressed sincere condolences to the deceased’s sons Dr. Shaikh Mohammed, Shaikh Khalid, Shaikh Ibrahim and grandchildren and relatives, the Royal Family, the Bahraini people and the Arab and Islamic nations. The late HH Shaikh Abdullah was a highly esteemed Islamic scholar, patriotic figure, thinker and expert in history. His Highness undertook a major role in the establishment of various religious sectors, including the establishment of the Directorate of Islamic Affairs, Quran Memorization Centres (1967), the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, and Holy Quran Affairs Directorate. He also undertook a major role in the progress of the Judiciary and Legislation, Sharia and Civil Courts, Islamic Endowments, the Minors’ Estate Fund, and Research, Call & Guidance.
