SCIA President participates in Russia – Islamic world: Kazan Summit

Manama, May 19 (BNA): President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA), Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, has asserted that the Islamic religion has spread globally through peaceful means, good word and establishment of good relations between Muslims and others. He indicated that historical facts reveal that Bahrain embraced Islam voluntarily out of its belief in the message conveyed to its people by Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) in 630 AD. SCIA President made the statements while addressing the 13th International economic summit (Russia – Islamic world: Kazan Summit), themed “The 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria.” Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the participants, as well their congratulations to them on the celebration of the great event. He highlighted the noble Islamic values and precepts that Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) was keen to promote, calling for the need to draw lessons from the prophetic message. He affirmed the importance of the adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria in enhancing relations between Russian and the Islamic world, praising the role played by Muslims in building their home countries. SCIA President took part in the opening of the Russia – Islamic world: Kazan Summit, hosted by Kazan, the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, with the participation of representatives of 63 countries and 52 Russian regions. The XIII International Economic Summit "Russia - the Islamic World: Kazan Summit 2022" focuses on the sharing economy and the common good of Halal, among other topics. The event also features the Russia Halal Expo 2022 exhibition, World Halal Day and the celebration of the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria.
