Scoot launches daily flights to Bangkok

SINGAPORE, July 6 (Bernama) -- Singapore's latest low-cost carrier Scoot have launched daily flights to Thailand's capital city, Bangkok beginning Thursday. Tens of thousands of passsengers had taken advantage of Scoot's fares since it introduced flights to Australia's Sydney on June 4 and Gold Coast on June 12. Scoot chief executive Campbell Wislon said: "While our focus remains on medium-to-long haul destinations, Bangkok fills a window when our aircraft would otherwise be on the ground, allowing us to spread overheads across a broader base and keep airfares down across all destinations in our network. "Bangkok is a fantastic destination in its own right, and our service provides some great connections with other routes, so we are all very excited to be adding it to our network," Wislon said in a statement. Scoot daily services depart from Singapore Changi Airport's Terminal 2 at 5.25 pm and arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 6.45 pm. The return flight departs Bangkok at 8 pm and arrives in Singapore at 11.15 pm, offering connections to many of the 220 cities in 60 countries accessible from one of the world's premier air hubs. -- BERNAMA
