SCW launches health awareness programmes

Manama, Oct. 3 (BNA): The Supreme Council of Women (SCW)'s General Secretariat has launched a series of awareness programmes as part of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
The health awareness campaign aims to familiarize with the disease's pathology, symptoms, and methods of early detection.
The campaign aims to enrich the quality of patients life as part of the Bahraini Women's Revival Strategy themed around the empowerment of women of all age groups to enjoy a serene dignified livelihood and boosting the physical and psychological health of women through the improvement of the quality of their life.
The campaign also aims to expand the choices of work for women to become an added value in the community.
The Council's General Secretariat unveiled that in October is will unleash a series of awareness programmes about breast cancer in partnership with the concerned bodies, including the Ministry of Health (MoH), Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC)'s women's panel, Bahrain Medical College, as well as the Council's participation in numerous relevant functions held by Bahrain Anti-cancer Society.
The General Secretariat added that it is boosting its efforts to spread awareness about breast cancer among women by launching campaigns geared towards public opinion, and women in particular, across the various media channels and the Council's social media accounts.
