SCW participates in CSW session

New York, Mar. 16 (BNA): The Supreme Council of Women (SCW)'s Secretary-general, Hala Al Ansari, headed the Kingdom of Bahrain's delegation to the 60th Session of the UN Committee on Women's Status (CSW). Al Ansari addressed the session asserting the Kingdom of Bahrain's quantum development of empowering women since HM the King's national reforms were initiated in 2000. Bahraini women undertook effective role culminating in the inclusion in the Constitution of provisions that consolidated gender equality before the law. Fifteen years now after the Supreme Council of Women (SCW)'s was established, Bahraini women have their expertise home in women's affairs and have moved their institutional work to the phase of revival of women through the provision of equal opportunities in a fair and just sustainable partnership, she said. Al Ansari cited the recent launch of the $100 million portfolio to develop women SMEs entrepreneurship.
