SCW secretary-general receives Egyptian ambassador

Manama, Feb. 2 (BNA): Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), Hala Al-Ansari, received here recently the Egyptian Ambassador to Bahrain, Suha Ibrahim Al-Far. Al-Ansari stressed the depth of the Bahraini-Egyptian cooperation regarding women advancement, and the two countries’ common stances in this field, lauding the strides of women in Egypt as a result of the care they receive at all levels. She underlined the importance of building on the successes of the Bahraini and Egyptian women, calling for the need to promote their achievements regionally and internationally and shed light on their contributions to the development march in their countries. The Egyptian Ambassador praised the remarkable progress reached by Bahraini women in various fields thanks to the support and care of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and SCW President. She also described the election of Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal as Speaker of the Council of Representatives as a source of pride for the entire Arab world. Ambassador Suha Al-Far also praised the Bahraini women’s continuous strides, crowned recently by their success in reaching the presidency of the Bahrain Journalists’ Association, noting that such a precedent reflects the confidence of Bahrainis in the abilities of women. She stressed the importance of continuous cooperation between the two brotherly countries in women-related issues.
