Search and rescue operation continues for missing training plane in western Turkey

FOCA (A.A) - January 17, 2012 - Search and rescue operation is under way to find a missing T-37C type training plane and two crew members on board near western province of Izmir. Contact with the plane of Air Forces Command was lost at about 16.05 hours on Monday. In a statement posted on General Staff's web site yesterday, it said, "all contact with the T-37C type training plane was lost at about 16.05 hours on Monday while the plane was on a training mission in the Aliaga Gulf. The search and rescue operation in the region continues to find the plane and the two crew members on board. A CN-235 type plane, a Cougar helicopter, three coast guard boats and a search and rescue ship of the Turkish Navy are involved in the search and rescue operation".
