Senior games debut in Hat Yai

SONGKHLA, July 24 (TNA) -- The Hat Yai municipal office organized its senior games for the first time and competitors aged 60 years and over participated in joyful competitions. The 1st Hat Yai Senior Games were organized at the Jiranakorn Stadium in Hat Yai district of Songkhla province. Senior athletes from four zones of Hat Yai municipality took part in the event. The games proved to be entertaining and raise big cheers, especially relay watermelon races which required competitors to wear sarongs, shirts and Thai loincloths and carry watermelon. Teammates took turns to carry watermelons and wear the clothing they got from their race members. There were also amusing tug-of-wars and adapted volleyballs. The Hat Yai Senior Games were aimed at promoting relations and health among local residents of Hat Yai and allowing senior citizens to make use of their time. (TNA)
