Severe drought hits Uthai Thani
UTHAI THANI, April 9 (TNA) -- Drought is now expanding in Thailand and key tourist destinations such as waterfalls in the province of Uthai Thani are being impacted as the amount of water there has lessened considerably, officials said.
Waterfalls in the province such as Kang Sao Noi and Sai Bor waterfalls, located in Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary, which are key tourist destinations are losing their charms because not much water is left and tourists are turning their eyes elsewhere, officials said.
People used to visit the waterfalls in the past, especially during the long weekend, because of their stunning beauty.
But water at both waterfalls has sharply reduced due to the lack of rainfall and huge rocks are visible, officials said.
Tourists are warned by officials manning the waterfalls of receiving injuries from falling from the rocks. (TNA)
