Shaikh Khalid Bin Khalifa appointed Arab Thought Forum member

Manama, Apr. 9 (BNA): HRH Prince Al-Hassan bin Talal, the patron and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Thought Forum, has issued an edict appointing the Deputy Chairman of the Isa Cultural Central Centre, Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, as member of the 10th session of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Thought Forum for a three-year term.
Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa was nominated for the post by the General Assembly of the Arab Thought Forum thanks to his numerous intellectual contributions in the service of Arab strategic issues, and sound analyses of the current situation in the region.
He has delivered many lectures at various Arab and international forums, and published a number of studies and research on history, as well as analytical articles on the GCC foreign policy, Arab unity and the Arab national security.
He held several academic and government positions as per edicts, and Royal decrees and orders. He has been a member of the Shura Council since 2002 and chairman of its Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee. He has also been a member of many local, regional and international committees.
Based in Amman, Jordan, the Arab Thought Forum is in an Arab non-governmental Intellectual organisation established in 1981, in the wake of 11th Arab Summit. It is an initiative launched by Arabs thinkers and decision-makers, led by HRH Al-Hassan bin Talal. The Forum seeks to discuss and diagnose the current situation in the Arab World , explore the Arab future , formulate practical solutions and possible options by providing a free platform for dialogue leading to crystallize Arabic contemporary thought towards unity, development , national security, freedom and progress issues .
The board of trustees of the Arab Thought Forum comprises 25 members, including intellectuals, decision-makers, experienced politicians and former Arab ministers.
