Shaikh Khalid's efforts to unit Bahraini society hailed

Manama, July 25 (BNA): Competitions of the 6th Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League continued, amid interaction of various personnel, including former National Team Player Hassan Zalikh, President of the Down Syndrome Society Dr. Mohammed Abdul Karim Al-Mannai, President of the Disabled Services Centre Nader Al-Markhi, and Member of the Cerebral Palsy Society Dr. Muna Hamad Ahmed.  The league is held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association and Honorary President of Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation, organised by the Ministry Youth Affairs and Sports in partnership with the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, from 24 June to 9 August. It is part of HH’s initiatives in support of youth in sports and humanitarian fields, held this year with the wide participation of youth centres, national clubs, young women, disabled individuals, ministries and communities.  The 6th Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League is organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Affairs in partnership with the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, from 24th June to 9th August 2018. The league is part of HH’s initiatives in support of youth in sports and humanitarian fields, held this year with the wide participation of youth centres, national clubs, young women, disabled individuals, ministries and communities.  Former international player Hassan Zalikh expressed his pleasure to be among a group of Bahraini youth at one of the most successful annual youth programmes in the Kingdom, thanks to the great efforts of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and his noble goals in humanitarianism and sports. He pointed out the great development witnessed by this year's edition through the expansion of participation by adding a special league for communities and ministries, as well as the leagues for youth centres, clubs, young women, and disabled individuals. "The interest of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in all these categories is evidence of the care and attention given to the youth of the Kingdom," he said. Many Goals Dr. Mohammed Al-Mannai affirmed the multiple objectives of HH's initiatives, especially in terms of allowing all segments of society to participate in these initiatives, uniting Bahraini society. He said, "HH's initiatives have proved to be an outstanding success, especially in their organisational processes. Such events have succeeded in attracting able-bodied and disabled youth, realizing such concepts in reality with insight and purpose." On his part, Al-Markhi praised the continuation of the disabled league, an integral part of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa's initiatives, which aim to convey messages to various segments of society about the importance of those with disabilities. Finally, Dr. Muna Hamad explained that the initiatives of HH have included all aspects and categories in the Kingdom, noting HH's keenness to include all parties in order for them to benefit from such events and youth programs. Special Olympics team qualified for the semifinals of the Disabled League which is being held as part of the 6th Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Futsal League following a hard-fought victory in a five-goal thriller against Deaf Committee team in Group 1, held at Khalifa Sports City on Tuesday. The goalkeeper of Deaf Committee team Mohammed Fareed shined throughout the match, although his heroic saves couldn't save his team. However, he took home the best man of the match award. Motor Disability team has topped Group 2 following a thrilling 5-4 victory over Cerebral Palsy team. Motor Disability's player Nabeel Hamad Al Dosseri stole the limelight during the match and earned himself the best player of the match. In Group 2 too, Al Muhafizeen team shared the spoils with Deaf Committee team following an exciting 4-4 draw. Waleed Al Thawadi of Al Muhafizeen contributed two goals and won the best man of the match award. In the final game of the day, Bahraini Youth Society for Challenging Disability thrashed Friendship Society for the Blind 9-0.
