Shaikha Mai receives Omani Minister of Heritage and Tourism

Manama, May 18 (BNA): Board Chairperson of the Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage (ARC-WH), Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, received today Omani Minister of Heritage and Tourism, Salem bin Mohammed Al Mahrooqi. She informed him about the cultural movement in Bahrain and the programmes of the regional centre and its efforts to preserve the heritage of Arab countries. Both sides also discussed means of boosting cultural cooperation between the two brotherly countries. Shaikha Mai hailed the minister’s visit to the kingdom as a reflection of mutual interest in fostering bilateral cultural cooperation. She also lauded the Omani presence in the local cultural scene which yielded many mutual projects as part of the sustainable cultural seasons. She affirmed the importance of joint Gulf and Arab work in preserving achievements. For his part, the Omani minister thanked Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa for her efforts to boost bilateral relations, lauding the role of the regional centre in maintaining and managing the world heritage sites in the Arab countries.
