Sharjah Ruler opens 16th Islamic Arts Festival

Sharjah: His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, opened on Monday the 16th Islamic Art Festival, which is being held at the Sharjah Arts Museum and features 172 works representing contemporary trends in arts and photography. Accompanied by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, the Ruler of Sharjah toured various galleries of artists from Argentina, Azerbaijan, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, Germany, Iraq, Egypt and Turkey. A seminar under the title "Reflections of Islamic Arts" will be held at the festival's sidelines at the Sharjah Museum for Islamic Civilisation on Tuesday and Wednesday. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
