Sheikh Ahmed bin Zayed mosque opened in Kabul

Abu Dhabi, Aug 14, 2012 (WAM) - A mosque accommodating 2,500 worshipers named after the late Sheikh Ahmed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was opened at Kabul University campus by Yousef Khamis Al Ali, UAE Ambassador to Afghanistan. The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Niazi, Minister of Hajj and Islamic Affairs, and senior officials. Dr. Niazi paid tribute to the UAE for its consistent, generous support for humanitarian and charitable causes. ''The mosque stands testimony to the giving, generosity and love of UAE people to charity,'' he said. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
