Shooting Iranian spy thriller “Stranger” commences

TEHRAN,Dec. 10(MNA) -- Shooting “The Stranger”, an Iranian spy thriller starring celebrated Lebanese actress Laurette Hanino began on location near Tehran on Wednesday. The story of the film is set in Iraq in 2005, when U.S. army member Julia tries to deliver some secret documents about Al-Qaeda and U.S. forces in Iraq to her journalist friend in Karbala. Hanino play the role of Julia and Iranian action star Jamshid Hashempur will soon join the project, which is being directed by Hamid Bahmani. The Iraqi scenes are being shot in the Sacred Defense Cinematic Town, a location for Iranian war film projects. Some scenes will also be shot in a school in Tehran. The film crew will leave Tehran to the north of Lebanon in the upcoming weeks to take the scenes that are related to Julia’s family in America, producer Mohammad Qahramani told the reporters in a press conference. Iran’s Avini Art and Cultural Institute is financing the project with the help of the Farabi Cinematic Foundation of Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. Iranian actor Mohammadreza Sharifinia is the casting director of the project and Kurosh Tahami, Behnush Tabatabii and Fakhreddin Sediqsharif are other members of the cast.
