Shura Chairman receives UNIDO delegation

Manama, Mar. 6 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, received here today a delegation from the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO). Members of the delegation are on a visit to the kingdom to assess the role and work of the UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion Office in Bahrain, as well as the achievements of the Bahrain Model for Entrepreneurship and SMEs Development in the country and abroad. The Shura Chairman commended the efforts exerted by UNIDO, and its cooperation with various countries in order to push the industrial development forward and create an investment atmosphere that is based on modern technology. He affirmed the Shura Council’s keenness to develop the legislative system related to the development of the national economy and the diversification of income sources. Al-Saleh stressed the Shura Council’s continuous efforts to discuss and develop laws that attract and protect investors, as well as enhance the kingdom’s status as a financial and economic hub.
