Shura condemns chemical attack on Douma, Syria

Manama, Apr. 9 (BNA): Council of Shura expressed strong condemnation of the chemical attack on the city of Douma, East Ghouta in Syria, which left dozens of civilian casualties among them children and women.  The Shura statement called for intensifying international efforts to stop this barbaric war, urging to exert extra efforts to protect the civilians from armed conflicts and to provide access to deliver humanitarian aid to innocent people.  The statement stressed the need for reaching a political and peaceful solution for the seven-year Syrian crisis based on Declaration of Geneva 1 and the UN Security Council Resolution 2254.
