Shura Council asserts support to Palestinian people’s rights

Manama, Dec. 7 (BNA): The Shura Council, in a statement issued today, stressed that the decision of the American Administration to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is in violation of the legitimate international resolutions, which affirm the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its Capital. The statement said the American Administration’s decision encroaches upon Arab and Islamic rights, as well as other religions in the occupied holy city renowned for peaceful coexistence.  It added the American decision would also threaten the peace process in the Middle East and raise tension in the region.  The Shura Council asserted its firm support to the Palestinian people’s rights, calling for joint international action to stand against the American Administration’s decision and to preserve the right of the Palestinian State and protect its holy sites.
