Shura Council hails national press development

Manama, May 6 (BNA): Marking Bahrain Press Day that falls on May 7, the Shura Council praised the development seen in press and media field, including protecting journalists’ rights thanks to the royal reforms. The Shura statement highlighted the constant support of HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, which has provided an appropriate climate for Bahraini journalists to perform their mission with high professionalism. The statement congratulated winners of Khalifa bin Salman Press Award, who contributed to promoting the national press and media work. It hailed the role of Bahrain Journalists Association and keenness of all journalists to maintain national unity, strengthen the spirit of social harmony and accentuating the national achievements. It reiterated support for media and press to boost their roles in defending national and citizens’ issues.
