Siemens signs substation deal with SEWA to boost power reliability, efficiency in Sharjah

Sharjah, June 17, 2013 (WAM) - Siemens, a global presence in electronics and electrical engineering operating in the energy, infrastructure, industry and healthcare sectors, has been awarded a turnkey contract from Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) to supply three high-voltage substations to the emirate. The substations will help boost reliability and efficiency of power supply in Sharjah to meet the growing demand for electricity there. Under the terms of the contract, Siemens is responsible for the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and handing over of three substations to the areas of Abu Shagara, Al Khan and Muweleah in Sharjah. This scope of supply includes substations, transformers and capacitor banks. The project is scheduled for completion in 16 months.
