Silver Cypresses handed to Iranian graphic designers

TEHRAN,Nov.6 (MNA) -- The winners at the Second Silver Cypress Exhibition, which is annually held by the Iranian Graphic Designers Society, were announced during a ceremony at the Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) on Friday. At the ceremony, the Iranian Graphic Designers Society Director Farshid Mesqali explained about this edition of the showcase. A small exhibition of some press pages and cover pages is underway on the sideline of the main showcase, he said. “The exhibition is being held independently by the society which is a great achievement and some specialized meetings are being held during the event,” he added. The secretary of the exhibit Kianush Qaribpur also spoke about the submitted works and the graphic designs which are on display during the event. “The society has 970 members but only 280 artists took part in the event which means that some members are not involved in the activities,” he lamented. He said that only 522 works are on display at the exhibition and expressed hope that more innovative works would be submitted to the showcase in future editions. At the ceremony, IAF director Majid Sarsangi announced that the forum is ready for further cooperation with graphic designers and to provide facilities for courses by veteran artists.
